The White House’s purriest resident is getting her own book.

First lady Jill Biden will publish a children’s picture book, Willow the White House Cat, with Simon & Schuster, the press announced in a news release. The book will be co-written with Alyssa Satin Capucilli and illustrated by Kate Berube.

Willow, a gray tabby, first arrived in the Bidens’ lives in 2020, when she leaped onstage and interrupted a campaign speech by Jill Biden in Pennsylvania. The first lady fell in love, and moved the kitty into the White House in 2022. Willow has her own Instagram account, which features pictures of her lounging on her mom’s lap and on various desks.

Biden’s book will tell the story of Willow’s move to D.C. “Soon Willow meets so many new people—one who arranges the flowers, another who makes sweet things to eat, and the man with a nice smile who seems to be able to do everything at once,” Simon & Schuster says. “Even though they are much bigger and busier than Willow is, each of them always seems to have time to say hello and make her feel at home in the big white house.”

“As Willow bounds from room to room, exploring history in her new home, she learns quickly about all of the incredible people who make the ‘People’s House’ run,” Biden said in a statement. “They welcomed Willow with love and care, just as they did Joe and me, the First Families who came before us, and all of the people who step foot into this home.  Making many new friends along the way, Willow’s journey gives the world a ‘cat’s-eye’ view of all the ins and outs of America’s most famous address.”

Willow the White House Cat will meow its way onto bookstore shelves on June 4.
