You know you love her, and now Gossip Girl is making a comeback.

Cecily von Ziegesar will revisit one of the most iconic characters from her bestselling young adult fiction series in a standalone sequel, Deadline reports.

Von Ziegesar has sold the novel Blair to Grand Central Publishing. The book will focus on Blair Waldorf, one of the main characters from the Gossip Girl series, 20 years after her time as a queen bee at the Constance Billard School for Girls.

Von Ziegesar’s series launched in 2001 with Gossip Girl, which introduced readers to Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen, students at a tony private school on the Upper East Side of New York City. Their social lives are documented by an anonymous blogger, the titular Gossip Girl.

Twelve more novels in the series followed, including You Know You Love Me, You’re the One That I Want, and Nothing Can Keep Us Together. The final book in the series, a prequel titled It Had To Be You, was published in 2007.

The novels were adapted for a hit television series, Gossip Girl, that ran on the CW network from 2007 to 2012, starring Leighton Meester as Blair and Blake Lively as Serena. A sequel series, also called Gossip Girl, aired on HBO Max from 2021 to 2023.

Blair will follow the titular character in her 40s as she returns to the Upper East Side and tries to reclaim her high-society status, according to Deadline. It’s tentatively slated for publication next summer.
