YOUR EYELIDS ARE GROWING HEAVY

When Megan Phillips, a high-powered, 30-ish executive with Glickman Pharmaceuticals, finds two days missing from her life, she turns for help to her shy, brainy neighbor Gus Bilinski and to Dr. Henrietta Snooks. Dr. Snooks--of the I'm-your-pal school of psychiatry--soon discovers that Megan has been instructed, under hypnosis, to blot out those days (a spell reinforced by a series of follow-up phone calls). Is Megan being programmed, then, to muck up the works at Glickman (where she's about to become VP)? So it seems. And when persistent Gus tracks down the hypnotist responsible for Megan's plight--respected psychologist Harrison Algren!--Snooks (that's what they call her) does some hocus-pocus of her own to uncover the rotten scheme and the man behind it. Happy endings all around--with excess cuteness and more about hypnosis than most readers want to know (or will believe)--but versatile, erratic Paul generates a good deal of fun with this breezy fantasy-adventure.
