BABY ISLAND

A unique desert island story, by a Newbery Prizr winner, who proves that she can spin mad tales skirting fantasy, as well as realistic stories of life on the Seine or historical fiction of our own frontiers. Two little girls, bound for Australia, are shipwrecked, with a boatload of babies. This is their Robinson Crusoe tale and an entertaining one it is.
