FATHER'S BIG IMPROVEMENTS

This is, unfortunately, too much a thesis book to have the appeal it should have. One feels that author and publisher have put heads together and decided that children today take the mechanics of living too casually. -- and that they should know that plumbing and electricity and heating and motoring weren't always automatically perfect. And so the story was hitched to the purpose. It's a good idea -- and the facts are there -- but it creaks at the joints a bit.
