DANDELION COTTAGE

Pleasant, but a bit on the saccharine, goody-goody side, mild adventure story for this age level. Good small town family background for a story of four little girls who take possession of a rundown dilapidated cottage in return for an agreement to keep the yard free of dandelions. All little girls long to have a play house of their own -- and in this story the dream comes true, but with a substantial degree of responsibility and hard work on the part of the young tenants. There's a happy ending, too, when Dandelion Cottage is the means for bringing two lonely adults into friendship again. Northern Michigan setting.
