CAM JANSEN AND THE MYSTERY OF THE U.F.O.

Cam Jansen, the girl with the camera mind, pairs up with friend Eric's camera when the two kids see some funny colored lights in the sky and a crowd of onlookers talk of UFOs. Eric is out looking for a subject to photograph for an upcoming contest, but he has used all his film by the time Cam spies two children dressed in aluminum foil suits being photographed by an older boy. This trio, Cam discovers, has staged the light show (tiny flashlights inside helium balloons) and plans to capture the photography prize. There's a cat in the picture too, and a final chase when the cat takes off with a roll of film. It's all a little more obvious than Cam and Eric's debut performance in. . . The Mystery of the Stolen Diamonds (p. 363). But Cam's penchant for getting to the bottom of things is as attractive a trait as her photographic memory.
