Another in the series of ""Sally"" books, and to adults it seems that this excellent writer could turn to other characters for these seem fairly wrung dry. However, if there must be series, perhaps it is fortunate that a sound craftsman produce them. There's a simple adventure plot about a counterfeiter in early New England-adventure aimed at somewhat lower interest level than the readers who find Sally, on the threshold of young womanhood, appealing. There's even a bit of romance as a Frenchman competes with country Andrew for Sally's love. The Sewell etchings are good.
