CATS OF DESTINY

A fat collection of cat miscellany -- fact and fiction. Most of the stories are familiar to cat fanciers -- the sacred cats of Egypt, Mohammed's cat who slept on while her master cut off his sleeve so that she might not be disturbed, Dick Whittington's cat, etc. However, there is a good representation here of literary cats- Dr. Johnson's ""Hodge"", Walpole""s ""Selima"", Immortalized by Gray, Alice in Wonderland's Dinah and her real counter-part, and even Scoopy, ""columnist"" for the Greenwich Village Villager. There is a cat who modeled for a famous painter, one who cheered her master in prison and some modern feline heroes and heroines. Specialized in appeal.
