Amusingly brash hokum in which Harry Truman and General Eisenhower, not to mention Beria of the NKVD, are mixed up in a successful plot to assassinate a loudmouth, war-inciting American 4-star general modeled closely on George Patton. The assassin is hired by the Americans through the aid of Mafia godfather Lucky Luciano while he's in prison. The assassin himself has more identities than a Chinese box and survives his own death. The historical portraiture is broadly done, very broadly -- just right for a costume flick set in 1945.
