MODERN LADY

A longish novel of the successful business woman supporting a parasitical family, assuming the privileges and burdens of the head of the house, trying to fit marriage into her scheme, and to sustain her career at the same time. The temptations of the business world, a spectacular rise and fall, loss of control of successive factors -- it is a twice told tale, but here handled from a somewhat different angle. Might have somewhat the Ann Vickers' appeal. Women readers, and the better type circulating libraries.
