STRAVINSKY: An Autobiography

Definitely a book for the musical market, for -- though called an autobiography, there is very little in the whole which does not concern itself intimately with music, with his own compositions, with his changing technique and theories, with the production of his compositions, with his connection with the great powers in the artistic and theatrical and musical world of Europe. Diaghileff, Toscanini, Debussy, Nijinsky, Ramuz and many others enter the picture, but always it is music and more music. There is a simplicity and naivete in the telling that makes it authentic but almost amateurish.
