THE CROAKER

Early Patrick Dawlish rewritten (not by much -- the three-minute fuse that is spluttering is crackling and spluttering eight lines later) in which The Croaker, a thief who's been at large for some time, is related to his anonymous voice, the Speaker, and to a Syndicate of two MP's and two millionaires before Dawlish and the Yard get to the ""boodle."" Lots of boodle in a vault where the Croaker finally croaks. Even if Dawlish will outlive us all.
