A poet turns to elegies with the atmospheric and ingenious story of murder in a select hotel colony for artists and writers in the west. (Colorado?) His artists in undress are no angels -- as a leading critic, who himself contemplated the murder of his wife, is killed. The cast alternate in the narration, and include Wessex of the police, a backbiting bunch of poseurs and eccentrics, a dipso-commercial artist, an ex-convict and a dope fiend. Clever parody -- originality of build up.
