WASHINGTON WHISPERS MURDER

It is four years since we had a Colonel Primrose -- and Grace Latham -- story, and this time- with Washington so much in the news, it is a natural. Senate investigating committees, corruption, ambitious go-getters, and news vendors combine for a sordid bit of dirty work in which private lives are at a premium. Grace Latham as usual, finds herself at the center of affairs, and manages to sort out a few bits of evidence that Colonel Primrose finds useful. A girl's life is wellnigh wrecked; a family already scarred, is victimized; a columnist who pushed his luck too far loses his life; and an innocent little flower from the country proves cannier than her sophisticated opponents. Entertaining muddling through to a happy ending.
