THREE BRIGHT PEBBLES

She's fast approaching Mary Roberts Rinehart's class as a producer of first rate thrillers that are good novels as well. This is aces, as good or better than her previous ones. Again Grace Latham tells the story of a household on edge, of strange undercurrents, of two murders -- and the denouement is a surprise even to the mystery expert. We miss her army friend and his crotchety bodyguard, but Dr. Birdsong and his dog are good allies. A grand yarn.
