Garth, the same piglet who barely escaped being cooked by the wolf baby sitter in last year's Mr. and Mrs. Pig's Evening out, now discovers to his peril that Madam Lupino, who drives the ice cream truck and lures him into the back of it on the pretext of aiding his selection, is that selfsame wolf--or one so like her that she might as well be. It might as well be the same story too, with all Garth's siblings pedaling pellmell to the rescue while an oblivious Mrs. Pig remains at home, preoccupied with scrubbing her floor. Somehow the wolf's emergence from the ice cream van seems both more sinister and less psychologically credible than her appearance as a sitter--but it's Rayner's double dipping that really disappoints.
