STRANGE LIZARDS

Miss Earle seems as well informed about lizards as she was about the familiar grey squirrel (Squirrels in the Garden, 1963, p. 111, J-45). She explains countless bizarre facts about these odd creatures in lively, comprehensible language. The anole, chameleon, horned toad, swift, Gila monster, komodo dragon, and the marine iguana are among those included in this gallery of the strange. Once again, the author's art work in pencil is well placed, accurate and filled with movement. An excellent study, packed neatly with the fascinating kind of specialized information on which youngsters dote.
