THE GOLDEN IMPALA

Peter Ward, son of the Taluki Game Reserve warden, shares his father's love of the African bush. One night he sees for the first time a herd of Impala, one of which is of a golden shining color. When he tells this to the native gardener, the man becomes agitated. It is a bad time for the Impala who, for some mysterious reason, are being killed in masses. There is a legend that the ""golden one"" shall reveal himself to a white boy when the species is threatened with extinction and he will be the instrument of their delivery. And it is Peter, in his fearless love of the animals, who saves them from slaughter at the hands of a group of ruthless commercial hunters. Well integrated with scenes of the bush is this solid and sometimes poetic story of adventure.
