Strapped to his hammock and ready for G loads and free falls, Flyball (of Space Cat) is also ready for Mars. Nevertheless, the new venture comes unexpectedly, for Flyball and Col. Fred Stone, who are on their way home from Venus, wander from their course and suddenly find themselves in the vicinity of the red planet. Delightful adventures await them there. They don't have to wear bothersome space suits for one thing and, with less gravity, are able to leap lightly from spot to spot. And Flyball meets Moofa, a beautiful, longitudinally striped female cat who loves to swim and who goes back to Earth with him. Pictures by Paul Galdone show surprised and eager participants in the great adventure. Seven to nine year olds will find it absorbing; five and six year olds will listen avidly, so it brackets two age groups. Side sewn, reinforced and back glued.
