LION

This new story by the author of The Giant, Squirrel Hotel and others, takes place in heaven's Animal Factory where earnest angels are at work creating new species every once in a while. Artist Foreman thinks of the word LION and starts to make it. The idea is unclear in Foreman's mind so he tries feathers, stripes, a peeping voice, etc., until, with the help of the other angels and the Chief Designer, Lion emerges complete with roar and ready for Earth. With their combination of broad masses and tiny detail, the author's pictures will also tease the imagination.
