A spinoff of the main people, androids, and other marketable trademarks from Star Wars. The plot has Luke Skywalker and Princess Leis, with the faithful Artoo Detoo and See Threepio, stumbling around the world of Mimban after an emergency landing. In short order Luke and the Princess are in the hoosegow being interviewed by a Gestapoish minion of the Empire, then escaping across jungles and subterranean lakes—fending off giant worms and pseudopodous creatures—and barely beating the more-malign-than-ever Darth Vader to something called the Kaiburr crystal that "increases one's perception of the Force." If you want to get through all that, you'd better decrease your perception of Foster's writing ("His voice deepened to a toxic whisper"). May the Force preserve us from more of this stuff.
