Dominated by the "Masters", the universe stands at a crucial point. This ancient and superior culture, which has mechanically provoked the various ages of man, realizing that they are decadent and in decline, is intent upon subjugating the "Humanoids". Vanquished finally by the superior intelligence of this younger and more vigorous race, the "Masters" relinquish their supremacy. A fantasy which pivots about prehistoric and recorded history, is replete with obvious devices of warfare, stock characters, and awkward dialogue. Another case where the conception is in no way equalled by the characters or events.
