The author of The Egg and I comes up with some cleverly done fantasy in which the morals are golden, enticingly packaged and totally unlike sermons. For Mrs. Piggle Wiggle's Farm is a home for the bad. Each of the funny chapters in this book tells of a different child who's sent there by distraught parents- to take the cure. There's Fetlock Harroway, delicate but a born liar and the type of boy who roller skates over people's gardens. Under Mrs. Piggle Wiggle's guidance, that seems to cater to rather than frustrate, Fetlock blossoms physically and begins to see what scrapes lying can get him into. For a girl who forgets her pets at home, there's a good dose of farm animal care- and so on down the line of faults.
