THE CHRISTMAS DOLLS

The Butterfield Square Orphanage of Miss Know It All (1966) is ready for Christmas, but two of the charity dolls that Miss Plum and Miss Lavender have for presents are too shabby to keep. Flyaway Tatty, who can talk to dolls, sets out to save these two and being only seven, gets lost in the snow. In this plum pudding of cozy, conventionally Christmassy ingredients, the result is the de-Scrooging of Mr. Not-So-Much, two happy rejuvenated dolls, and a merry Christmas for one and all. Doll-sized fantasy that works well enough for very little, very girly girls--not too silly, not too sweet.
