THE DOOMSDAY SQUAD

The Guns of Navarone in prospectus but with a water pistol impact, this is the story of a group of dead-enders training for a doomsday mission in World War II. Sergeant Leon Stoner arrives in Australia as more or less a bodyguard for war hero General Case and is surprisingly reunited with beautiful Morgan, a nurse. He becomes aware of a secret suicide mission of six men whose job is to blow the mines on Japanese controlled Tanju and neutralize the beach for an American landing. Of his own volition Stoner lands foursquare into leading the project when he misinterprets a Morgan striptease intended to wheedle information from a Japanese prisoner. The mission is accomplished and Stoner is the sole member to survive. Some attempt is made to uncoil the motivations of the suicide men but it's all quite slipshod.
