Kornelsen offers an introduction to the spiritualist writings of “The Way of Unity.”
In this volume, which is intended as a preliminary opening to a series of five books, the author describes himself as “a child of earth, an indigenous man, who was raised in traditional teachings.” The information he shares in these pages is, he asserts, is “a message from Creator, gained and gifted through journeys, study, spiritual work, integrity, and persistence,” all laid bare for what the author refers to as “the age of Reconciliation.” The book’s chapters draw from a wide variety of spiritual traditions, and through them all, the author derives a series of basic life-precepts that will go on to inform the rest of the books in the “Way of Unity” series. These pronouncements by the author are presented in the same peaceful, accepting tone that will be familiar to fellow spiritualists and other readers of spiritualist prose. Skeptical readers are unlikely to be won over by the opening pronouncement that the author has “walked the worlds of Spirit” where “old gods and great ones showed me visions and taught me of Truth.” However, spiritual enthusiasts will appreciate the wide range of his insights, and particularly the way in which so many of his insights work to link many different schools of philosophy. “All things are conceived in Nature and expressions of Soul,” he writes in one of many such passages, which are clearly designed to be inclusive, relatable, and uplifting. In particular, the book’s main underlying message that there is a “deeper Truth to our perception and Experience of life” is stated and restated with a sincere passion that many readers will appreciate.
An expansive collection of insights that will appeal most to avid readers of spiritual texts.
