Just as she’s been turned into a TV star by the new detective series A Policeman’s Lot, real-life p.i. Phyllida Moon is invited to start again at the bottom by auditioning for the Little Theater company, from among whose ranks accountant John Harper has good reason to be worried someone is supplying his son Paul with drugs. But Phyllida (Roundabout,1999, not reviewed) isn’t the only one torn between two roles. Her secretary Jenny has fallen hard for Kevin Keithley, a prime suspect under suspicion of dealing—and murder.
