After the bear family's latest theatrical triumph, little Sarah's nose is out of joint. Her work on props and costumes is ignored while the rest of the family reaps accolades for more conspicuous contributions. Worse, visitor Blanche, the orphan sheep (Speak Up, Blanche!) is praised to the sky for her sets; still worse, though it's Sarah's turn to plan a family outing, a hike in the woods is vetoed because it won't suit Blanche; worst of all, Blanche is allotted Sarah's room. It's enough to make a little bear imagine that she was adopted and set out into the woods, fantasies whirling, to find her ``real'' parents, leaving a trail of cold ravioli just in case. Nightfall brings a change of heart and direction and a happy outcome when Sarah finds her whole worried family camped out to look for her. Predictable but satisfying; the Caldecott winner's endearing bears continue to express human feelings with amiable wit. (Picture book. 5-8)
