This is a limited — 700 copies for sale — and I should think these would be quickly disposed of. Try to conceive Rudyard Kipling of his occasionally cynical sidelights on Colonials in Plain Tales From The Hills, mixed with a bit of Saki, and dished up in a wholly original form — you have this unique collection of Evelyn Waugh's short stories. "Short shorts" many of them; smart London, down on their luck Colonials, characters a bit off register, a bit queer, or would-be-smart and result tragic. It is witty — and biting — and good reading.
