Far and away the most inflated, quaint, and hokey of the Louie stories to date. Now, looking for a father (on page one, just like that), he passes various unprepossessing people (a gallery of Keats' street-types), notes that others are preoccupied, then comes upon a music box dropped by a junk truck. The scruffy, red-bearded junkman turns on him, chases him (a familiar Keats scene—dark, menacing figure filling the page), goes home with him, berates his mother—whereupon the music box begins to play better than before, the junkman presents it to Louie bows to his mother. . . and two pages later, Louie has a new father. Hooey in high colors.
