YOUNG PEOPLE FROM BOSNIA TALK ABOUT WAR

This entry in the Issues in Focus series falls somewhat short and is sure to disappoint readers looking for real information on a notably complex subject. After the first chapter, ``Roots of War''—difficult even for knowledgeable readers—the book becomes more personal and thus easier to understand. Young Bosnian Muslims tell their stories of living through agonizing conflicts that left them mostly homeless and helpless in a world they never made; eventually they were rescued and brought to the US to study. In spite of bombs and mortar and bullets, torture and starvation, and loss of family and friends, all the participants in the book would like to return to their homes.
