THE REAL BOOK ABOUT CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS

Another biography to add to the increasing list. (Will we soon be able to say there's one in every series?) A fair account, this does for the older age group what Ronald Syme's Columbus (1952, P.402) does for the younger- though less dramatically. On-the-scene narration beginning with Columbus' boyhood adds to reader interest, and enough historical background plus the tragedy of his frustrations and ambitions, make adequate supplementary reading, Pictures by Russ Anderson.
