Concluding volume of the Obernewtyn Chronicles, first published (by Viking Penguin) in 1995 in Australia. In Obernewtyn (1999/1987), Carmody leads us into the years following the Great White nuclear holocaust and tells of the Mutant Orphan Elspeth Gordie, a telepath who can hear human thought and also beastspeak. In The Farseekers (2000/1995), Elspeth and her fellow Misfits take over the mountain fastness Obernewtyn and build a society of psychics. And in this final outing Elspeth must look into the Beforetimes and study the bedrock of her dreams.
