THE MISSING BOY

Ten-year-old Deborah, a cockney orphan, learns through a fantastic projection into a multi-dimensional world, and through her friendship with a little blind boy, more about the nature of proper behavior and love than most men could in a whole life of philosophical speculation. By nature, a serene and selfless child, her flight -- with the help of special glasses -- into a world peopled with lost children, good fairies, and evil spirits, becomes a means by which she can integrate all those curious longings and confusions which inevitably perplex a youngster. Fact and fantasy ultimately meet, and it is a happier, more secure Deborah who relinquishes the key to never-never land for the sake of an earthly fulfillment in love. Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, The Little Princess Cinderella, and Captain Vide meet in this curious melange, which inevitably suffers by comparison with the four originals.
