by Lis Andersen ‧ RELEASE DATE: June 1, 1936
Good fact material in the authentic account from a child's diary of a Danish family's adventures sailing across the Atlantic, south to Rio, north to New York (which, save for Coney Island, didn't come up to expectations), back to Denmark. There's a certain solemnity in the telling -- but there's a freshness and spontaneity and sense of adventure and drama that relieves it of ponderousness. Good for David Goes To Greenland market, girls especially.
