Peters follows two sisters, Caroline Rose and Ivy, around the farm where they live, romps that always end up in the hayloft. They try to collar and leash their cat; they seek coolness on a sultry summer day; they spend the night (the hayloft is much scarier in the dark). Although the relationship between the sisters is sweetly conveyed, the three episodes are meandering and ultimately pointless. The realistic full-color illustrations are uninspired. (Fiction. 4-8)
