Another bold, beautiful picture book by the illustrator of Have You Seen My Duckling? This one is wordless: a boy, first seen reading a book about jungles, goes to sleep; as his cat climbs out the window at dawn, he imagines the cat is a tiger whom he follows into a jungle world with toucans, elephants, gibbons, crocodiles—15 birds and animals in all, listed with their habitats on the jacket flap. The simple fantasy serves to link the bright pictures of animals so large that they bleed off even these broad pages. Fine for sharing with toddlers, in lap or group, or for language development in older preschoolers.
