Tom Bell, hired two-gun man and newspaper editor, backs up his pen with gun-powder when he comes into New Mexico in 1887 to wipe out Capps and protect an election over the county seat. He spells it out for his friends and enemies, beards Capps in his own territory, faces a lynching and shucks his cutter to win his printer gal. Dry humor and filled in background keep this out of the minor league.
