JOHNNY UNDER GROUND

Do not despair for Johnny Head in Air...He sleeps as sound as Johnny Under Ground."" And the poem is the essence of the truth about the ostensible heroic suicide of ""Beau"" Guest, a razzle dazzle RAF pilot reduced through crash injuries to an Operations Room during the War. Inspector Henry Tibbett's wife finds the chapter on Beau increasingly lengthy as she researches her former outfit's history for a forthcoming book. Old friends are evasive, a second murder occurs, and her husband is called in professionally to track through ancient jealousies, loves and misguided altruism. It's murder plain, not simple, and it's competent, quickly consumed material.
