From his files as a prosecutor in the mining, farming, lumbering district of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, this is a generally active account of Traver's fourteen year offensive against offenders of all kinds and in and out of court. During this time Traver established quite a record- he lost only one case in the last ten years — and these annals of adultery, rape, drunken driving, homicide, a kidnapping, and even a uranium hoax provide a representative record of misdemeanours to which the regional idiom lends a certain humor. A successor to his earlier Troubleshooter, these tribulations as well as trials of a local vigilance have a rambunctious recap here and will appeal largely to a masculine audience.
