Little ones learn to count and sing.
“One little, two little, three little dinosaurs….” So begins this sing-along counting board book. A recording of the tune is included in a chip embedded in the extra-thick back cover, playing when little readers press the smiling sun exposed by a die-cut hole in the top right-hand corner. The sound is muffled somewhat at the beginning, but the quality improves as pages turn. The book is evenly paced, with three little dinosaurs counted on each spread. These are illustrated with scratchy lines, adorable smiles, and rounded teeth. They are colored in a bright primary and secondary color palette and given large numbers on their tummies to help kids learn their numerals. All in all, these are some enticingly cuddly dinos. The recorded song may drive some caregivers to grind their teeth, but little ones will quickly run the battery out on this one. Fortunately the song is easy and catchy enough that little readers will have it memorized by then.
An engaging title for young readers starting to count to 10.
