Amazon Prime Video dropped a trailer for the second season of Reacher, its series based on the Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child.
Child’s novels follow the title character, a former Army police officer turned drifter who frequently finds himself butting heads with criminals. The series premiered last year, with the first season based on Child’s Killing Floor; the second season is an adaptation of Bad Luck and Trouble, which sees Reacher investigating the murders of several of his Army friends.
The trailer for the new season opens with Reacher, played by Alan Ritchson (Smallville), standing behind a woman withdrawing cash from an ATM. Spying a nearby car, Reacher asks the woman, “You’ve been carjacked, right?” The woman nods yes.
“Don’t turn around, this won’t take long,” he says. He walks over to the car and shatters the driver’s side window, beating the man inside.
“Wait, who are you?” the woman asks as Reacher walks away. “Someone who prefers not getting involved,” he replies.
In another scene, Reacher beats a man and shoves his face in wet cement. “Damn, Reacher,” a woman says. “When we were kids, we just wrote our names in it.”
Other members of the Reacher cast include Robert Patrick (Terminator 2: Judgment Day), Serinda Swan (Coroner), Shaun Sipos (Krypton), and Maria Sten (Swamp Thing). The second season premieres on Dec. 15.
