Actor and director Amber Tamblyn will edit a collection of essays about women’s intuition, publisher Park Row Books announced in a news release.
Listening in the Dark will be published in 2022. Contributors to the book include Tamblyn, Rep. Ayanna Pressley, actors Amy Poehler and America Ferrera, and authors Jia Tolentino and Samantha Irby.
“Both a celebration and exploration of the many facets of women’s intuition, contributors will share their personal experiences with intuition and how it has shaped their lives and accomplishments,” Park Row said. “Listening in the Dark will not only focus on the value of gut feelings as a vital and sustainable tool, but will teach readers what, exactly, intuition feels like, looks like, and behaves like, to better connect and wield it with authority.”
Tamblyn, an Emmy-nominated actor known for her roles in shows like Joan of Arcadia and Two and a Half Men, is the author of poetry collections including Free Stallion and Dark Sparkler as well as a novel, Any Man, and a memoir, Era of Ignition.
“So many books on modern womanhood have covered rage, empowerment, and global movements the world over, but I have longed to read something that focuses sharply on what ignites all of it: our guiding intuition as women,” Tambly said. “I hope this book with not only shed light on how women have come to trust or not trust their instincts, but to create a road map to better harness and utilize our intuition in every day life.”
