The Boston Public Library revealed its list of the most borrowed books of 2023, Boston.com reports.

The most popular book with the library’s patrons was Bonnie Garmus’ Lessons in Chemistry, the 2022 blockbuster novel that was likely buoyed by an Apple TV+ miniseries adaptation that began streaming in October.

Gabrielle Zevin’s Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow took the No. 2 spot, followed by Prince Harry’s bestselling memoir, Spare. Emily Henry appeared twice on the list, at No. 4 and No. 6, with Book Lovers and Happy Place, respectively.

Jennette McCurdy’s memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died, was at No. 5. The list was rounded out by Brianna Wiest’s 101 Essays That Will Change the Way You Think, Taylor Jenkins Reid’s The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Barbara Kingsolver’s Demon Copperhead, and Colleen Hoover’s It Starts With Us.

The most borrowed teen book was The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins, followed by Holly Jackson’s A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, Leigh Bardugo’s Six of Crows, Alice Oseman’s Heartstopper: Volume 1, and Jennifer Lynn Barnes’ The Inheritance Games.

The children’s book list was topped by Raina Telgemeier’s Smile; the other books in the top five were all installments in Dav Pilkey’s Dog Man series.

The complete list of the city’s most borrowed books is available on the Boston Public Library website.
