Chelsea Clinton is launching a new children’s book series written by a variety of authors, and she’s also coming out with a picture book of her own, the Associated Press reports.
The former first daughter will write the introductions to a series of chapter books about animal conservation, to be published this September by Philomel. The first three books in the series are Save the…Tigers by Christine Taylor-Butler, Save the…Elephants by Sarah L. Thomson, and Save the…Whale Sharks by Anita Sanchez.
“I couldn’t be more excited about this book and the newest ‘Save the…’ series,” Clinton said. “My hope is that young readers and their families will enjoy and learn as much from the books in this series as I have, whether about whale sharks, frogs or more animals that could disappear if we don’t all work together to save them.”
Clinton is also publishing a new picture book, Welcome to the Big Kids Club. Philomel describes the book, illustrated by Tania de Regil, as “a humorous book about what every older sibling needs to know, filled with information about the new baby at your house.”
“This book will teach you what every big kid needs to know about their baby: what your baby can see, why your baby cries, when your baby will be able to talk, how your baby knows you love them, and so much more (including why your baby poops so much!),” Philomel says.
All four books are slated for publication on Sept. 13.
