Social media influencer Drew Afualo will make her literary debut this year with a self-help book.

AUWA Books will publish Afualo’s Loud: Accept Nothing Less Than the Life You Deserve this summer, the press announced in a news release. It describes the book as “empowering, inspiring, [and] patriarchy-smashing.”

Afualo worked in public relations and digital media before joining the video hosting service TikTok in 2020. She became a star on the platform in 2021, known for her videos advocating for feminism and mocking misogynistic men; she currently has 7.9 million followers. She is also the host of the podcast The Comment Section with Drew Afualo and the co-host of the podcast Two Idiot Girls.

Her book, AUWA says, “is part manual, part manifesto, and part memoir. It makes it clear that behind her fearsome laugh is a mission and a life philosophy, a strategy for self-confidence from the inside out, and a pathway to once and for all remove men from the center of how women and femmes think about themselves.”

Loud will be the third book published by AUWA, the MCD/Farrar, Straus and Giroux imprint run by musician and author Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson.

Afualo announced her book on TikTok, saying, “My big, brown, annoying ass is published, ho.…Honestly, I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank all the awful fucking men on the internet, all of whom I’ve stepped on in order to get to the top. Thank you for all the vitriol and the hate, because it not only gave me the community that we have here, but it got me published in many different countries, bitch. Oh, man, the men who hate me can suck my dick forever, bitch.”

Loud is slated for publication on July 30.
