The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books revealed its 2026 lineup, with Lionel Richie, Tina Knowles, Margaret Atwood, and Anne Lamott among the authors scheduled to appear at the annual event.

Richie, author of the memoir Truly, will appear at the festival on April 19, in conversation with Times pop music critic Mikael Wood, while Knowles will discuss her memoir, Matriarch, co-written with Kevin Carr O’Leary, with the newspaper’s assistant managing editor Angel Jennings on April 18.

Atwood will appear virtually to talk about the forthcoming television adaptation of her novel The Testaments with the series’ showrunner, Bruce Miller. Lamott will appear on a panel with historian Stefan Fatsis and journalist Neal Allen to talk about “language as a basic feature of our collective humanity, and the bridge between the technical evolution of language and the lived experience of storytelling.”

On April 19, comedian and actor Larry David will talk with Times news and culture critic Lorraine Ali about her book No Lessons Learned: The Making of Curb Your Enthusiasm. The same day, S.A. Cosby will discuss new reading formats with “a prominent video podcaster.”

Other authors scheduled to appear include Mac Barnett, Pat Benatar, Roxane Gay, Molly Jong-Fast, Susan Lucci, Chanel Miller, Lisa Rinna, and Jacob Soboroff.

The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books was first held in 1996. This year’s festival will take place at the University of Southern California. A full schedule of the events is available at the festival website.
