Michael Caine will dish out advice in a new book coming next year.

Mobius will publish the legendary actor’s Don't Look Back, You'll Trip Over: My Guide to Life, written in collaboration with Matthew d’Ancona, in the spring, the press announced in a news release. An Amazon page for the book describes it as a “funny, wise, entertaining and eternally optimistic guide to life.”

Caine, known for his Cockney accent and signature horn-rimmed glasses, was a stage and television actor before becoming a movie star in the 1960s with his roles in films including Zulu, Alfie, and The Italian Job.

He went on to appear in films including Get Carter, Sleuth, and The Quiet American. He has won two Academy Awards, for Hannah and Her Sisters and The Cider House Rules. His most recent film, The Great Escaper, was released last year.

Caine’s previous books include the memoirs The Elephant to Hollywood and Blowing the Bloody Doors Off and a thriller novel, Deadly Game.

In a statement referencing one of his most famous lines of dialogue, Caine said, “Over a long life, I’ve learnt a lot and had the opportunity to reflect. I’ve seen a new generation grow up, among them my own grandchildren, facing the world with all its challenges and problems. I hope they’ll find Don't Look Back, You'll Trip Over: My Guide to Life helps them to be optimistic—and shows that anyone can blow the bloody doors off.”

Don't Look Back, You'll Trip Over is slated for publication on March 25, 2025.
