Trevor Noah will release a new book this fall, One World announced in a news release.
The Penguin Random House imprint will publish the comedian’s Into the Uncut Grass, illustrated by Christopher Myers, this fall. The press calls the book “an illustrated fable about a young child’s journey into the world beyond the shadow of home, a magical landscape where he discovers the secrets of solidarity, connection, and finding peace with the people we love.”
Noah, the South African comedian who became a star in the U.S. after he was hired to host Comedy Central’s The Daily Show in 2015, is the author of a previous book, the 2016 memoir Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood. A critic for Kirkus called the book “a somewhat disjointed narrative with flashes of brilliant storytelling and acute observations on South African culture.”
The book was a No. 1 New York Times bestseller, and won the Thurber Prize for American Humor and two NAACP Image Awards.
One World says that Into the Uncut Grass “is written for readers of all ages—to be read aloud or read alone. It’s a tale of adventure and companionship that beautifully evokes the rewards of kindness, curiosity, and interdependence in a world of conflict.”
It is slated for publication on Oct. 31.
